Commentary on Week 6

Sorry. Just a day late, Let's do this.

In the ASCDBL, The game ran smoothly until the 37 minute mark at which point something really bizzare occurred. The cones on the red side were knocked down but it was stated that a player
deliberately knocked them down. I then did something that had no precedence. I asked the players if the player who knocked down the cones should be removed. There was a unanimous yes decision. So that was a no result and the clock still running was reset to 37 minutes. Chaos then occurred later on and so the clock was reset to 33 minutes. After that the game was usual then it went down to the wire, Red seemed to be continuing a regulation winning streak that was until the clock went to the last 5 seconds and a back wall happened. With no players out on each side the game went to 1 minute 3 elimination overtime. With no winner after this the game went to sudden death where Red won.

Now on to the game which made the staffs Best and Fairests go out the window. It was a Thursday ASCBBL game. Very rare for the season and only the 2nd so far. The older players were doing great and had good sportsmanship, The little kids were the opposite to the extent that none of them got B and F points. 2 players in particular did wonderfully and Red had a W10 streak. I felt that 3 players deserved 3 points. So I asked if that was possible and one of the staff (S1) wouldn't let me award 2 players them (READ BELOW TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED)
I then announced it with that exact staff member telling me not to say who else I would've given points.  I said who I would've awarded them and as I was walking to the scoring desk to get my things another staff member (S2) said I went against S1's wishes. I then said S2, I DONT NEED A LECTURE! Right in front of everyone and then I said "See ya next week!" and left SN Center with my things enraged. I soon came back saying I would go against S1's decision. S1 then said a few things and then I pointed at S1 & S2 saying "I'm still annoyed at both of you" then left again. I then went to the office and opened the B & F Results box and wrote 5 players down for 3 points and alas my point below.

Guys, Everyone has bad moments. That was mine, I won't announce anymore until the Thursday after the seasons end (Commentating continues) Also, I will take over B and F results. I swear bias won't be there. I wear grey for a reason and if I wear a colour I will cover it with a jacket.

Anyway, That's my piece tonight. See ya next week.

NOTE: I'm not mad at my co-ordinator in fact I'm quite happy with her. One more thing to everyone: PLEASE CONSULT ME ON HOW MUCH TIME IS LEFT! I have the timers in front of me so if your planning free time please ask because there have been some issues. Now that is my end piece. Goodnight.

Commentary on Week 5

I dreaded writing this. Let me make it clear, That no result was awful. I didn't like announcing it but it had to be done the amount of players and scoring was extremely low. I'm so thankful that A5 (My best friend) messaged me after it. That made me happier.

Now to the DBL: Oh boy... With 38 minutes played the game was still tied. The staff voted for the winner and Red won. It was a bizzare ending but at least it wasnt a tie. Now next week we continue

Second Amendment Set - Refereeing, Score Changes, Fouls (ASCBBL)

This is the second amendment set.

1. Before invoking any disciplinary sanctions, There must be a reason.
1a. This reason must be stated to either the commissioner or another referee and then referred to the commissioner

2. There is only one reason that a team will get points from not getting a basket and those are palpable unfair acts as defined below

• If a player is pushed during a shot then it will be called as follows "Palpable unfair act - Pushing, Insert Team awarded 2/3 points."
• If a player deliberately trips someone then it will called as follows "Palpable unfair act - Tripping, Insert Team awarded 2/3 points."

3. If a team at any point changes the scoreboard then the player whom commits the act is awarded an on-notice penalty.

4. The scoreboard will only change time or scores if any of the following occur

• A score is made.
• There is a penalty awarded as the clock is on 0.0
(In this instance the player will get their free throws & The clock will be reset to 20 seconds. Once the free throws are taken then the clock is set to the next period except in Period 4.)
• There is an injury (This is the only reason other than me disputing calls which will cause clocks to stop)
• If a team commits an palpable unfair act.

5. I as commissioner reserve the right to: Change scores, Update standings (With regard to the Third Amendment Set: Game Results, Score Changing, Multiple Fouling & Technology) Revoke calls from a referee if I find necessary and make calls if necessary.

6. Necessary shall be considered as the following "If a referee made no call on earlier fouls and now does then the call will be revoked."

7. Following Week Fours incident, A score cannot be changed by me in order to do the following
7a. Make a game enter overtime or shootout.
7b. Make a team be awarded bonus points (BP) on the standings.

8. I also being a referee may make a call if seen as necessary.

9. Ok, I will now change the colour system for fouls. It now works as follows
💚 - (Green foul) - Awarded for minor acts of unsportsmanlike behaviour, 1 free throw awarded.
💛 - (Yellow foul) - Awarded for severe acts of unsportsmanlike behaviour, 2 free throws awarded.
🔴 - (Red foul) - Awarded for major acts of unsportsmanlike behaviour, 3 free throws awarded.

10. Fouls are not awarded to players. However, If staff observe major disobedient acts. They can receive a  ⚫️ - (Black foul A) or ✖️(Black foul B), A Black foul A is a send off for 1 period meanwhile a Black foul is an ejection

11. In the hopefully rare situation that due to injury and black fouls a team is bought down to 4 players then the following protocol must be applied.
11a. If 5 players are left and one gets a black foul, Then they MUST remain in the game. With one massive difference, The foul free throw values are doubled.
11b. If due to injury a team is bought to 4 players then the following protocol will be applied
11b(I). The other team must pull one of their players except if 11c occurs
11c. If both teams are bought to 5 players and both teams receive injuries, Then the game will go to 4-on-4
11d. If a team while on 4 players loses another player due to injury, Then the other team must pull one of their players except if 11e occurs.
11e. If both teams receive injuries while playing 4-on-4 the game will proceed to 3-on-3.
11f.  If while on 3-on-3 a team receives an injury, Then the game will be declared a non-result.

Updated April 21st to update the Black foul system.

Updated on April 20th due to new schedule updates.

Commentary on Week 4

No commentary this week. I have a notice to place up today and rules will certainly be changed.

Commentary on Week 3

This week I want to declare "Bizzare, Controversy, Screw Up Week"  because in the ASCBBL there was a controversial call which caused me to full on rant & Because I played scores became screwed up. Alas why there wern't period scores on the official result & Why 3-pointer bonus points wern't added, Furthermore in just 3 games of the Regular Season we got an own basket. Now on to the ASCDBL, This weeks game caused two 2 week suspensions for fighting & it turned into the NBA as 3 birds came into SN Stadium. (No, The game wasn't suspended to remove them.) Anyway, Congrats to the Challengers. Cya next week!

Commentary on Week 2

As of now I will commentate on the week.

Week 2 was a wonderful week as the trophies arrived and were awarded on Friday but this week features more than that.

In the ASCDBL, Blue were leading 39-17 with only 14:24 to play. Red however in 5:51 scored 15 unanswered to bring the score to 39-32 with 9:43 to play. Though with 8:53 to play Blue scored again to bring the score to 41-32, Red were unhindered however as in 57 seconds (7:46 remaining) the score was bought down to 41-36. Though Blue wernt going to take prisoners as just 12 seconds later (7:34 remaining) Blue scored to make the score 43-36. Red answered in 1:15 (6:19 remaking) to make the score 43-38, Though by 5:20 Blue had scored twice to make the score 47-38. However by 3:34 Red had scored 2 3-pointers to make the score 47-44, Though 9 seconds later (3:25 remaining) Blue were leading 50-44. However in 25 seconds (3:00 remaining) Red tied it up 50-50, Red then ran the clock to 0:46 before scoring meaning that for the first time in 53:52 Red were leading but Blue then forced OT with 0:21 remaining. In OT (Which was 1 minute long due to an agreement) Red scored with 4.4 seconds remaining. Due to the efforts and teamwork of two players on Red both of those players were awarded 3 points towards best & fairest standings.

In the ASCDBL, The game was running quite long and several shots at the hoop were fired with none scoring. Though the game was forced to half court at 17:00 and Red knocked all 3 cones over thus they earned 3 points towards the standings.

Now for a couple of notes

• First: I apologise for the late update of the ASCBBL standings. The amount of 3-pointers scored was immense and I had to check it 3 times (NOTE: The app I use for scoring does have play-by-play but it only puts [insert team added 1 point], However I am thankful it has time stamps which indicate when I added the points as I was able to simplify about 100 plays to 49.)

• Second: I checked all standings again today. All are correct.

• Third: I will be going to Sydney as I stated in my cancellation of games post. I promise to be back the Monday after next Monday.

• Fourth: Finally the trophies and medals arrived!
